Welcome
Welcome to the website of the Canadian National Taekwon-Do Group (ITF). We are the National Governing body of ITF Taekwon-Do in Canada.
This website is intended as a portal to the ITF do-jangs (training halls) across the country.
What is Taekwon-Do?
Taekwon-Do is an unarmed Korean art of self-defense founded in 1955 by General Choi Hong Hi. By being one of the most modern complete martial art systems, Taekwon-Do benefits from proven and demonstrated scientific approaches to developing power in techniques. Moreover, being a martial art born in the 20th century, Taekwon-Do has today's society in mind. Through rigorous physical and mental training, students of all walks of life, genders, backgrounds and age groups manage feats that they initially never throught possible.

1918-2002
Taekwon-Do is so much more than this, however. Through its tennets (courtesy, integrity, perseverence, self-control and indomitable spirit), ITF Taekwon-Do aims at noble moreal rearmement. Think of it this way - through positive training, students gain the confidence to stand up for the shared values in our society in an inclusive, socially responsible manner. This one of the reasons why we call it a way of life. Through Taekwon-Do we learn to overcome challenges, cope with our personal frustrations and grow as human beings.
For new students, every affiliated school is run by ITF-certified instructors with many years of continuous training and a passionate dedication to this art. Whichever location you select, you are in good hands.
